1. What Is Flash?
Flash is a multimedia presentation that allows for animated
images, text and sound to be added to a website. Flash is the standard
for multimedia presentations for the Internet, and Flash plug-ins are
now standard for most browsers being used on the internet. Flash plug-ins
allow visitors to view the flash without having to install additional
programs on their computer.

4. Changing Flash Display Size
By default, all Flash Intro's are set to "stretch" to fit
the browser window size. In some cases, this may cause images to look
"fuzzy" or low quality. This is caused by the stretching of
the images beyond their intended viewing size. To resolve this issue,
you can set the Flash to display at a fixed size of 600 x 400 pixels
by changing the Preferences as follows.
- Click on the house at the bottom of your homepage
and log into the Admin Menu.
- Click on the "Website & Listing Preferences" link.
- Select Website Options.
- Select "Fixed" for the "Automatically
stretch Flash Intro to full screen?" to set the display at 600
x 400 pixels.
- Click Save Changes.
- To change from a fixed display to the default
full screen (stretched) display select "Full Screen".

6. Custom Flash Tips
The following guidelines will be helpful for developing your
own custom Flash Intro's.
- All Flash must be in SWF (shockwave) file format.
- Flash versions 4-6mx is supported. Flash MX2004
format is not supported at this time.
You can change the published .swf version to flash 6mx in the Publish
Settings section of Flash.
- Recommended Flash size is 600 x 400 to 1200
x 800 pixels.
- Flash file size should be less than 250K - This
is not an absolute rule, but file sizes larger than 250K will take
a much longer time to load for dial-up users.
- The Flash SWF file should be fully self contained,
able to play as a stand alone file. Loading external images or flash
movies will not work as these external files cannot be uploaded to your
flash file.
Because the background color of the flash is often
contained in the html of the flash page, and not the flash file itself,
the background color of your flash intro may not be correct. Please
contact us at support@ihouseweb.com
with the correct hexadecimal color code for the background. We will be
happy to update the background color for you.
